SRA Designated members agree to adhere to the Appraisal Institute code of professional ethics and standards of professional appraisal practice, underscoring their commitment to sound and ethical professional practice. These requirements are in excess of state certification requirements.
To become a SRA Designated member of the Appraisal Institute, an individual must:
Have good moral character;
Meet standards and ethics requirements;
Pass rigorous education requirements and a series of six exams;
Submit 4000 hours of residential appraisal experience which must meet strict criteria;
Receive credit for a demonstration report proving knowledge in all three approaches to value as well as depreciation influences;
Hold a 4 year degree from an accredited college or university
Because of its rigorous requirements and commitment to providing valuable information, continuing education and other valuable resources to its members, you can be confident an appraiser with an SRA designation will provide you with the very highest quality residential appraisal service.
